Role: Lead Designer
2017’s UC San Diego Commencement Weekend ushered in the second-annual All Campus Commencement Ceremony for the university. And the newly invigorated tradition featured His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama as the keynote speaker. Coinciding with The Dalai Lama’s graduate address, an additional public address was coordinated, allowing The Dalai Lama to speak to a broader audience during his time in San Diego.
A suite of event-related collateral was designed and produced to help commemorate and facilitate that weekend’s activities. And among this suite were event-specific tickets that guided attendee travel to-and-from campus events.
Four ticket types were required to aid seating logistics, and to smoothly usher guests, I designed a system to easily distinguish attending graduates, guests, VIP, and faculty/platform party members as they entered the campus. And in addition to the foil stamp of authenticity used on all tickets, prominently implemented university brand colors helped distinguish each ticket type, allowing admission staff to process attendees to their correct areas more quickly.
